There are many opportunities in everyday life to challenge your balance and to load your muscles and make them work harder. Our research has rigorously examined the efficacy of such a novel approach for older at-risk people. LiFE advances our knowledge about the role of functional balance and strength activities in falls prevention, challenges our thinking about balance and strength training and physical activity and has the potential to impact on practice for a number of health professions.
