The best way to really understand the LiFE Program, is to do it yourself.

Trainers must have read the participant’s manual before reading the following section. The participant’s manual has pictures and diagrams which will enhance the understanding of the following section. You should refer to it as you work through this information.

It is important to teach participants the principles not just the activities. As you are explaining the principles, demonstrate what the principle is and give examples of how it applies to improving function or gait, or to preventing falls. You should also demonstrate the activities as you teach them.

  • Also have ready the examples of Linking function, falls and gait to facilitate why they might find a particular LiFE activity relevant and beneficial.
  • Rember its not about lecture but thinking about teachable moments.
