Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, shift weight forwards feeling the weight through the toes but keeping heels on the ground. Then shift weight backwards onto the heels, feeling the weight through the heels but keeping the toes on the ground. Make sure not to bend at the waist.

1. Starting position: feet apart and flat on the ground.

2. Shift weight forwards onto your toes and keep your heels on the ground. Weight should be felt more on the toes.

3. Shift weight backwards onto your heels and keep your toes on the ground. Weight should be felt more on the heels.

All LiFE activities can be upgraded and made more challenging in a number of ways and this will be described in Module 7. For example, the participant may:

  • Change their base of support by bring their feet closer together or using one leg
  • Holding the activity for a longer time
  • Decreasing the amount of support that they use from their hands.
